Founder/Funder Story:
Chris Onwuzurike’s story is truly inspiring, showcasing a deep-rooted commitment to philanthropy and community service. Born into a family that valued public service, Chris learned the importance of generosity and selflessness from his father, who dedicated his life to serving others. Following in his father’s footsteps, Chris founded the Sabestine Onwuzurike Foundation in honor of his late father, using it as a platform to fulfill his philanthropic passions and make a positive impact in his community.
Chris’s journey as a philanthropist and community leader was also shaped by his educational background and professional accomplishments. After arriving in the USA in the early 80s as a student, Chris pursued his academic endeavors with determination and excellence, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 1987 and a Master’s in Construction in 1992. His academic pursuits were further enhanced by a postgraduate certificate in Project Management from Harvard and a Digital Transformation certificate from UC Berkeley, highlighting his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
